Lark Voorhies was born on March 25, 1974 in Nashville, Tennessee and began  acting at the age 2. In 1988, Lark appeared in two episodes of TV’s “Small Wonder”. She rose to fame by playing Lisa Turtle in Saved by the Bell, for which she twice won the Young Artist Award, in 1990 and 1993, and was twice nominated for the same award in 1991 and 1992.

Lark dated co-star Mark-Paul Gosselaar aka Zack Morris (and possibly also Mario Lopez aka AC Slater) while Saved by the Bell was on the air.  In 1993 she was engaged to Martin Lawrence, who tastelessly broke off the engagement without even bothering to tell her about it! She found out that the engagement was off when she saw him on the Arsenio Hall Show and he mentioned his engagement to a different woman.

So What is Lark up To These Days:

Three years later,on March 9, 1996, she married actor/producer Miguel Coleman but the couple later divorced in 2004. Lark later married some guy named Andy Prince in 2007. With rumor floating that she was a drug addict, On May 30, 2006, Voorhies filed a lawsuit against the National Enquirer for libel over an article that included claims she had a drug problem.

Since the mid-1990s Lark has appeared in minor roles in movie flops such as How High and Civil Brand during 2001 and 2002, respectively. Voorhies guest-starred in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode “Life Support, season 6 episode of Family Matters, as Eddie’s upstairs dream girl. She also a guest star on In the House, in which she played the girlfriend-turned-wife of Alfonso Ribeiro’s character, Dr. Max Stanton. Previously, she played Riberio’s love interest twice on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Despite not having acted since 2002, she is scheduled to star in the apparently small-budget The Black Man’s Guide to Understanding Black Women in 2008.

WHAT IS SHE UP TO NOW?

Lark was formerly in an alternative band named Third Degree. She was the founder and lead singer of the group. Due to the band splitting, Voorhies decided to further her music career as a soloist. Voorhies is currently preparing to release her new single, entitled “Saturday”, under her own management/production company by January 2009. The album title is currently unknown.

According to Arista Records publicity, it has been rumored that Voorhies has been privately in talks with singer Whitney Houston’s family members and music business associates to portray the legendary star in an upcoming bio-flick and it’s been stated that Voorhies has been chosen to cast play the leading role. Voorhies is casted to play the role of Houston in her early twenties until mid-age. Scripts are currently been in process of writing and the shooting date is said to begin next year 2010, with the release of the movie sometime in August 2011.
